Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Awards 2022

Congratulations to this year’s Fairfield Police Union Scholarship recipients!

The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 and benefits the children of Fairfield Police Officers. The Fund began with an initial contribution of $10,000 and has grown substantially through a combination of fundraisers and donations.
Local residents Dennis Poster and his wife, Dr. Joan Poster, owners of Poster Veterinary Associates, were the first citizens to donate to the fund and continue to be avid supporters. Dennis and Joan Poster also serve on the Board which manages the Fund.

This year’s recipients were Megan Bucherati, Brett Cahill, Nicolas Cahill, Kayla Dalling, Christian DeAngelis, Charlotte Esposito, Caitlin Fenton, Meghan Fenton, Caroline Gunter, Paige Hine, Emma Kelley, Colin McKeon, Evan Papageorge, Milo Terifay, Riley Terifay, Ryann Wiltsie

Thank you to Fairfield First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick for attending a recent award ceremony and presenting each student with their award!

Additionally, The Judge Daniel F. Caruso Memorial Scholarship was created in 2018 to honor the life work of Judge Daniel F. Caruso, an advocate for anyone and everyone who needed help in the community. Judge Caruso sat on the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Board and was instrumental in setting up this scholarship fund and an integral part of its success. He was a strong supporter and advocate for both Notre Dame High School and Fairfield Prep. In his honor, we award scholarships at both Notre Dame High School and Fairfield Prep each year.

This year’s recipients of the Judge Daniel F. Caruso Memorial Scholarship were Brennan Newcomb from Fairfield College Preparatory School and both Geoffrey Medeiros and Maureen Andre from Notre Dame High School.

The Fairfield Police Union also funds a separate scholarship through the Fairfield High School Scholarship Foundation which awards scholarships annually to graduating Fairfield High School seniors who plan to pursue a career in law enforcement or are the children of a Police Officer. This year’s recipients were Jaden Aliberti and Evan Papageorge from Fairfield Warde High School and Matthew Dupont from Fairfield Ludlowe High School.

Congratulations to all and best wishes as you pursue your educational goals!

The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund is proud to have awarded over $350,000 in scholarships since it’s inception in 2014!
